OPTICS · INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

Tamron’s 8 October announcement adds its 20–40mm F2.8 Model A062 to Nikon Z full-frame cameras. For optical-component buyers, it is a current example of combining zoom range, aperture and package constraints.

A photography lens announcement

Tamron announced the Nikon Z version of the 20–40mm F2.8 Di III VXD, Model A062, on 8 October 2026. The product is a fast-aperture standard zoom for full-frame mirrorless photography.

This is a consumer imaging lens, not an industrial inspection lens specification. Its camera-mount compatibility must not be extended to unrelated industrial sensors or lens assemblies.

Translate compactness into a component specification

For custom lens and optical assembly sourcing, record the permitted package, focal-length range, aperture and sensor format. Agree how image quality is checked across the zoom range, rather than accepting a single measurement at one focal length.

Component drawings should define surface form, centration, spacing and the assembly datums that affect repeatability. Where several lens elements are involved, clarify whether acceptance applies to individual components, the completed assembly or both.

Evaluate coatings within the full optical path

Discuss antireflection coating requirements in relation to wavelength, incidence angle and the intended lighting. Specify a reproducible transmission and stray-light test. A coating description alone does not establish the final imaging result.

These are TUOLAN’s procurement recommendations, not a claim to manufacture Tamron components or distribute the announced lens. For an original optical project, send the drawing and application requirements for review.

Buyer RFQ checklist

  • Confirm the exact sensor format, operating band and application.
  • Request a dimensioned drawing, optical performance data and sample test conditions.
  • Agree acceptance criteria, target quantity and delivery milestones before ordering.

Review your project specification

Send the application, drawing or interface requirements, target quantity and market to TUOLAN TRADE or sales@tuolango.com.
