Radiation Resistant Lens Selection: Exposure and Test Requirements for Optical Buyers
OPTICS · INDUSTRY ANALYSIS
Resolve Optics promoted radiation-tolerant imaging in the context of VISION 2026. Its Model 419 technical announcement provides historical background for reviewing what a harsh-environment lens specification must cover.

Keep the original product date clear
The manufacturer’s Model 419 announcement is dated 14 April 2026, over 90 days before this review. It describes a fixed-focus, non-browning lens for radiation-resistant CMOS cameras, with a 9 mm focal length and a stated 400–750 nm imaging band.
The company’s VISION 2026 exhibition post provides the recent event context. We treat the April release as historical technical reference and do not present it as a new October launch.

Define the exposure rather than using a label
For specialist optical component sourcing, state the radiation type, expected dose, dose rate and operating temperature. Ask the supplier to identify the test conditions behind any radiation-resistance claim and the permitted change in transmission or image quality.
Review the lens together with sensor, electronics, housing and any protective window. A qualifying optic does not establish that the whole camera will survive the same exposure.
Agree measurements before and after testing
Specify transmission and imaging checks before and after the exposure programme. Include mechanical stability and the coated surfaces that sit in the optical path. Retain sample identity and test records for traceability.
TUOLAN does not claim nuclear qualification, Model 419 supply or radiation certification for its standard optics. Special applications require a documented specification and supplier qualification review.
Buyer RFQ checklist
- State radiation type, cumulative dose, dose rate and temperature.
- Agree permitted transmission and imaging changes after exposure.
- Qualify the lens, sensor, electronics and protective window together.
